When I was 9 years old, I became a rider.
I remember always begging my mom about wanting to take ballet lessons until the day came that she saw an ad in the local paper about a new riding stable opening up. She asked me if I would be interested in trying riding lessons and I said ‘sure’. After that first lesson, I was hooked.
I rode many horses/ponies over the years…

And then one day, in the summer of 2000, something amazing happened. My parents decided it was time to buy me my own horse. I tried out a few, but it wasn’t long until Chelsea was mine.
July 27, 2000 I became a horse owner.

My Lady Chelsea, the 4 y/o registered thoroughbred mare, was all mine.
11 years later, she’s still my girl.
I try to get out and ride Chelsea at least 3-4 times a week and definitely don’t see myself stopping any time soon.
Nice to see another horsey girl around the health blogs
